"Olek"

Distinctly I remember your left arm around me, leading me
while your right hand was occupied pointing out some of
Monet's masterpieces at the museum.
I was in a trance, welcoming your body heat like a gift
to my soul.

I was blind, I was deaf, I was mute

nevertheless...

I heard my heart dancing to the sound of a drum,
Clearly I saw the electrical impulses
connecting me to you
I said "Bonjour" when all you asked was if
I knew
the Impressionist paintings.

Little you know, Olek
how deep you came into my life
injecting the atropine straight to
my veins
waking up my heart
when this one decided to quit.
